January 2015 is a VERY IMPORTANT MONTH at DLA ...
Remember, all students who did not achieve a proficient score on the state test in 2014 are REQUIRED to attend our weekly Wednesday and monthly Saturday Launch tutoring sessions.
Second Quarter Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences Thursday, January 15 4:00p.m.-7:00p.m. and Friday, January 16 9:00a.m.-2:00p.m.
Teachers and students are preparing their presentations to families which will include second quarter grades and each student's "SLP" or Student Learning Plan. Conferences are REQUIRED for all DLA students and families.
Please respond to the invitation to schedule a conference that your child's teacher is sending home via each student's BACKPACK.
As we do each quarter, we are inviting numerous community organization partners for families to learn about their services.
See you either Thursday or Friday!
NWEA Winter Assessments
All students will take these mid-year assessments in January which help teachers know how much progress your child has made and what we still need to work on during the second half of the school year. Students will have individual goals for the year and the winter assessments will give them feedback about their progress toward the year-long goal of at least 1.5 years of growth!
Dayton Leadership Academies NEW Parent Council
DLA is forming a new entity in January called the DLA Parent Council (PC). The PC will include parent representatives from all grade levels, K-8 to meet monthly with DLA administration so that we can get regular feedback from families as our year unfolds. More on this very soon!
From the entire Staff and Board of DLA, we appreciate your efforts to make sure your child is on time and in school every day (our attendance is high and our tardies are low!)
