Friday Collaboration
Every Friday from 3:30-4:30 DLA teachers meet to learn, collaborate, practice, and plan.
Friday Collaboration includes time for:
1) Teachers to learn and practice high impact instructional practices
2) Department Teams to go through the data-driven instruction cycle
3) House Teams to meet to check in on common routines, procedures, and school culture expectations.
Training on research-based high impact practices that align with our school model and priorities, such as data-driven instruction, balanced literacy, reading comprehension and writing strategies, and project-based learning
We provide high quality professional development via 1) feedback through frequent coaching and mentoring, 2) weekly grade level and house team meetings, 3) seven professional development days driven by staff needs and input.
We offer a range of instructional technology – 1 to 1 student Chromebooks, SmartBoards and document cameras in every classroom, Google Classroom for online assignments, two computer labs, and online learning software targeted to students’ needs.
